* The End of an Era

Max Jones produces his final edition of Juiced.GS (as editor, that is).

The February 2002 edition marks Max's exit as editor of Juiced.GS.
The publication, now a part of the Syndicomm family, will continue
publication with Ryan Suenaga as editor. The writing staff as well
as the format of the magazine will remain essentially the same,
althogh the staff is looking at ways to keep the publication
evolving. The magazine is also moving to its own World Wide Web
site. Information about Juiced.GS can be found at
http://www.juiced.gs/

* Warp Six BBS

The Warp Six BBS program for the Apple II has its own nntp server
which can be found at:

warpsixbbs.homeip.net

There are a few different Warp Six related groups there.

The World Wide Web page with instructions for using Warp Six BBS
software is still at:

http://www.warpsixbbs.webhop.net/

* Computer Gaming History

A lot of Apple II users use their computers for gaming. Recently, a
three-part history of online games and one of its most popular forms,
the multi-user dungeon (MUD) was made available at:

http://www.happypuppy.com/features/bth/bth-vol8-37.html
http://www.happypuppy.com/features/bth/bth-vol8-38.html

The article is written by a former GEnie Apple II RoundTable file librarian and
focuses primarily on text-based games available in the early days of
online services such as CompuServe.

* GS Driver for CompactFlash Storage

Work continues on the CompactFlash storage device reported on last
month. Dave Lyons, former Apple II system software engineer, is
writing a GS/OS driver for the adapter card. Lyons will be the
featured guest at an online conference on March 18th in the Apple II
area on the Syndicomm online service. More information about the
card and the driver can be found on Rich Dreher's World Wide Web page
at:

http://dreher.net/CFforAppleII

* Apple II User Groups

Postings of meetings in and around the Internet show that Apple II
user groups are still a popular way for Apple II people to share
their knowlege and love for the platform. While many User groups now
include Macintosh contingents, several out there are still dedicated
solely to the Apple II. To find a group near you (or for information
on how to start one!) check out the User Group sections at either the
A2Central.com website (http://www.a2central.com/) or the Apple II
Motherboard (http://www.wbwip.com/a2web)
